About India Grocery

India Grocery is a free, independent directory of Indian grocery stores and farmers markets. It currently lists 109 stores in New Jersey, New York, the California Bay Area and Texas, with more areas planned. There are no ads and no tracking on this site.

How the data is gathered

Listings are compiled from public sources only:

chain store locators (for example, the store-finder pages published by chains);
individual store websites;
OpenStreetMap, plus other publicly available directories and local news coverage.

Each store page lists the specific sources used and the date they were checked. Map coordinates are only shown when a source (such as a chain locator or OpenStreetMap) provides them — we never guess a location.

What the status labels mean

Open (as of last check) — confirmed by the store's or chain's own site, or by two or more independent sources.
Unverified — found in public sources but not yet confirmed; it may be new, or details may be incomplete.
Possibly closed — recent checks suggest the store may have closed. Stores found to be closed are removed from the directory.

How fresh is it?

Listings are re-checked weekly, but stores change hours, move, or close without notice, so information may be out of date. Always call ahead to confirm. The directory data was last updated on 2026-10-18. Hours are shown as published by the cited source.

No endorsement

Inclusion in this directory, and links to store websites or other sources, are for information only. They do not imply endorsement by, or any affiliation with, any business listed.
